True Love series: Love Always Protects, Always Trusts, Always Hopes and Always Perseveres

For a while now, we have been sharing deeply on true love and how we can all practical true love in our relationships and marriages. In this last phase of these series, we want to attempt to discuss what it means when they say Love always Protects, Love always trusts, Love always hopes and Love always perseveres.

True Love Always Protects

When you feel alone and in trouble, the easiest place you should be able to find comfort and protection should be the arm of your lover. When your partner is in trouble, are you their first place of protection? If not, you must ask yourself why they choose other people over you.

If you ever feel a need for protection and your spouse doesn’t cross your mind, something is wrong with your love. True love always protect. So, your goal as a lover should be to protect the reputation, image, confidence and life of your partner. If you cannot do this, you are failing the true test of love.

True Love Always Trusts

There is no love without trust. Without trust what you have is just a union of suspicion and guesses. Love always trusts! True Love trust in the partner’s ability to stay committed to their relationship. It trusts the partner’s judgement and true love trust in the partner’s ability to change and get better. Trust is such a crucial element for your relationship or marriage to work.

Trusting does not mean you shouldn’t ask questions but it means you have faith in the persons ability to do good by you.

True Love always hopes

The beauty of true love is that it always expect a better tomorrow for her lover and their relationship. You must never allow yourself get to the point where you believe this is the height of it. Getting to a point where you no longer expect better results from your spouse is giving up on them. When you give up on your partner getting better (no matter how long), you are giving up on true love. True love always hopes.

To err is for your partner but to hope that they will become better is the definition of true love. So, hope for more in your partner and your relationship. This can only be the beginning.

True Love Always Perseveres

These days, we no longer have lovers that persevere. We are now in a fast food generation. A generation that will rather throw it away than fix it. We no longer spend enough time on it for it to work. If it’s not working in out time, we simply throw it away and get out of it. True love always perseveres!

In case you don’t fully understand what it means to persevere, here are synonyms of the word from Google:

“persist, continue, carry on, go on, keep on, keep going, not give up, struggle on, hammer away, be persistent, be determined, see/follow something through, keep at it, show determination, press on/ahead, stay with something, not take no for an answer, be tenacious, be pertinacious, be patient, stand one’s ground, stand fast/firm, hold on, hold out, go the distance, stay the course, plod on, plough on, grind away, stop at nothing, leave no stone unturned;

informal soldier on, hang on, plug away, peg away, stick to one’s guns, stick at it, stick it out, hang in there, bash on

“she always perseveres in spite of discouraging setbacks”

True Love is Commitment

On this note, I am inclined to rebuff the many love myths we have come to believe. When you ‘feel something’, we call it love. Feelings are fickle and can change anytime but true love is not a feeling it is a commitment. Commitment to your choice when you feel like it and when you don’t. If love can grow, it can also die. True love is watering your love for it not to die. Practicing true love is reviving your love even when it dies. This kind of true love is an everlasting commitment.
