Who Is Ryan Reynolds?

Ryan Rodney Reynolds is a Canadian-American actor and Producer. He has been In the movie and film career for 30 years. He was born on the 23rd of October, 1976 in Vancouver, Canada. He acted in world-class movies like Green Lantern, Dead pool, Just friends, Red Notice and the quite recent blockbuster, Adams project.

Who is Blake Lively?

She’s an American actress who has won many awards to her name, there are Teen Choice Awards, a People’s Choice Award, and nominations for two Critics’ Choice Awards.

Ryan and Blake are one of the beloved Hollywood power couples. They throw shades at each other on social media and then they love themselves in real life, supporting each other’s projects and red carpet appearances.

The duo are amazing when it comes to their work, and acting.

Trust me, they never really knew they would spend their lives together because the both of them had partners when they met. Ryan Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively was with her ‘Gossip Girls’ co-star, Penn Bagley. The two were not married.

How Did These Two Meet? 

In July 2010, The two appeared together at a comic con to promote their movie, Green lantern. That was their first movie together. While speaking with co-host Jason Bateman on a SmartLess podcast episode, Ryan revealed the story of how they started. He said he met Blake while acting in the superhero film, Green Lantern. He said,

“I met Blake on the darkest crease in the anus of the universe called Green Lantern,”

He said they were close friends and about a year and a half later, they both went on a double date with separate people. The two say that it was the most awkward date of their life because they liked each other but after the date, they still kept in touch casually.

In October 2011, dating rumours were sparked that the two were dating after Blake was seen leaving Ryan’s apartment in Boston. He said he was going to Boston and she was also going there so they used the train together. He said he was begging her to sleep with him.

He said he made his first move using ‘pity ploy theory’.

“I would use a little bit of tear stick so I would get the tears kind of rolling … then I would tell a little sob story about my life.”

What changed their relationship from a casual one to a lifelong relationship was when Ryan asked Blake if they could buy a house together, and they got it. In December 2011, Paparazzi caught the couple holding hands in Vancouver while visiting Ryan’s parents during the holidays.

Wedding 

In September 2012, they got married at the Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. It was a secret wedding. The wedding planner said the couples wanted their wedding to feel like home. The bride wore Marchesa while the groom wore Burberry.

A source who attended the wedding said that when Ryan saw his wife, Blake. His face lit up immediately and he smiled till his eyes crinkled. The source said the wedding looked like something out of a romance movie.

They were criticised for using the location for weddings because Mount pleasant features nine slave cabins, referred to as Slave Street. They said it was violence against black people.

A spokesman for Pinterest said that weddings should be symbols of love and unity and that the plantations represent none of it. The couple apologised using their Instagram page. They wrote,

“We’re ashamed that in the past we’ve allowed ourselves to be uninformed about how deeply rooted systemic racism is,”

Life After Wedding

After being married the couples still gushed about each other in interviews and on their social media. In September 2013, in an interview with Lucky Magazine, Blake said she hopes she dresses differently than when she graduated from High school. She said she hopes she never stops changing.

Blake stated that she and her husband, Ryan influence each other in different ways. She said she is lucky to be with someone who has better taste than her.

In an interview with Vogue on August 14, Blake said that everything they did was done together and that she’s happy to share her life with the person her husband is becoming and how they get to grow together.

Blake’s Baby Bumpssss (BBB)

In September 2014, after two years of being married to Ryan, Blake talked about wanting to have babies with him. She said he is her best friend.

“He’s my best, best friend. What do you do with your best friend? You do nothing. If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would,” she said in an interview with Marie Claire.

In October, a month after, Blake announced her pregnancy on her now defunct lifestyle website Preserve. In December 2014, the baby was born. Although she came out early, she was healthy and everyone was happy. They named her James.

Ryan said that his daughter was named James after his father, who died of Parkinson’s disease and passed away in 2015. In March, Ryan posted a picture of his daughter’s fingers.

In April 2016, Blake was photographed in a fitted wetsuit on the set of The Shallows with a baby bump.

Inez Reynolds who is the second girl and second born was born on the 30th of September 2016. The couples are very private about their kids but from what we know, they are dedicated parents. Their third child, Betty was born in mid-2019, 4th of October. The couples were very private about their daughter. After a few weeks, Ryan shared the first photo of his little girl with himself and his wife.

After giving birth to her third child, Blake said that she battled with insecurities about her body. On her Instagram story, she said that she couldn’t find comfortable clothes and she found out she had gained a lot of weight.

“I put together a @lavinoffical shirt and dress from @netaporter to make this pretty outfit because no one had samples that fit me after giving birth. And so many clothes from stores didn’t fit either. So. Many… It doesn’t send a great message to women when their bodies don’t fit into what brands have to offer. It’s alienating and confusing. And I wish I felt as confident then as I do now, a year later looking back. That body gave me a baby. And was producing that baby’s entire food supply. What a beautiful miracle. But instead of feeling proud, I felt insecure. Simply because I didn’t fit into clothes. How silly is that in retrospect.” 

Blake and Ryan show us that everything can still work out in your marriage whether you are a celebrity or not. They are best friends and they do everything together, as it should be.

What Keeps Their Marriage Going?

While speaking to People, Blake Lively said that she and her family make sure they are always together as a family. She said if they were away as a family, it was never more than for a day.
