Pastor Jeffrey Dillinger On The Importance Of Love

Jeffrey Dillinger is a senior pastor of Glen Rock Church Of Christ. He has been on the preaching space since 1987 and has delivered a lot  sermons on different aspects of Christendom and life in general.

He has been married since 1989 and they are blessed with four beautiful children.

While he has had a lot of sermons under his belt, today, we will be exploring his sermon on love.

He speaks on how important love is to humanity and  begins his sermon with a verse from the Bible taken from the book of Corinthians.

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3  If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.”

1 Corinthians 13:1-3

In his teaching, he talked about GODS LOVE for us. God loves us so much that it is an overflowing love. This overflowing love is what you, as a Christian should pour into others. God has given us enough love to last us more than a. Lifetime. It exists within us. It thrives only when we can put some of that love into others.

Most of the times, our different personalities and physicalities allow us to be treated siffferently; better or worse.  Paul said in 1 Corinthians verses 13, that even if you are filled with the gifts from God and speak in tongues and you walk in Gods ways (or you think you do) if you do not have the most important gift of all which is Love, you are absolutely nothing.

Your gifts and personality means nothing if you do not have an outpouring of love to give to others. If you do not have love according to Paul, you are of  no spiritual Benefit to God. Love is a never ending thing.

“now faith, hope and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love”

What Makes Love The Greatest Of All?

Hope and faith are important and should never be downplayed because having faith in God is what will birth other things.

Howver Love is unique becasue it is the very image of God. When love lives inside of you, you are showing yourself as a spitting image of God. It is God’s love that brought us into creations. It still HIS love that brought salvation to us to save us from our own sin. Living in Love is the best way to look like him.

“ Love seeks what is best for someone other than self.  Love encompasses both correction and forgiveness.  It is because you love someone that you want to see their life connect to Jesus.  Does that require a person to change? Yes.  But love lets them know they were created for so much more than what they have let themselves become separated from Jesus. “

Serving God without love living inside you is a completely fruitless one. Love is what gives our relationship with God a definition. It is His love for us and Our Love for him that gives us stability.

Love can life you up from a life of sin. Thee is no judgements in love. As you read this, allow yourself become submerged in love, it is the best way to get connected to God and experience a rise in your life.
