Our Breakup Messed With My Mental Health – Fancy Acholonu

Fancy Acholonu who is the ex-fiancee of the Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo has come out to apologize openly for how she handled their breakup after three months of engagement.

Recall that the former couples were adored and celebrated when Alex went down on his knees to ask his long-time American businesswoman and actress to be his wife.  This was in May 2021, in August, the whole internet went crazy when Fancy announced their breakup and called off the wedding asking people to respect their privacy without asking questions because she won’t be posting or telling anybody the reason for their breakup. She posted a lengthy caption saying,

“Hey Guys, I am writing to inform you all officially that I have ended my relationship, and engagement and I have called off the wedding with Alexx Ekubo. I am aware that this may be a shock to many people. I made the best decision for myself because it is important that everyone finds their happiness and lives in their truth. At this time, my family and I ask for you all to please respect our privacy. Thank you so much!”

After this, rumours came up that Alex was gay and that’s why Fancy had broken up with him. This was because of the statement on her caption that said, “lives in their truth”. After finding out what her caption had done to her ex-lover, she came out to say that people twisted her words and she debunked the rumours that said that Alex was gay. 

In a current post, Fancy apologizes to the families involved, that is her family and Alex’s family. She says that she misses Alex’s mum and that she’s happy they are in a state of forgiveness. She apologizes to the entire Ekubo family and also says that God will give them the grace to heal and move on.

She beckoned on her family members, The Acholonu’s to forgive Alex stating that no one is perfect. She has begged everyone to move on and she has moved on and is living in her truth.
