Mikel Obi And Olga Diyachenko – Love, Family And Controversy

Olga and Mikel have been together since 2012 during his days at Chelsea and their union has welcomed a set of female twins.

Before his departure, Mikel played 19 games in the Super Lig, including 17 starts for Trabzonspor who sit at the top of the league table.

He as an unused substitute in their 1-1 draw against Istanbul Basaksehir on Sunday.

In a live Instagram video she conducted today, footballer, John Mikel Obi’s Russian wife, Olga, revealed how they met and started dating.

Olga who referred to Mikel as her husband, said:

“Mikel used to be my parents neighbor. We lived there for 5 years. As my parents were leaving the flat, I dropped off the keys at his flat and that was how we met and started off as friends and then grew into lovers. it was never a magical love story because we were neighbors for 5 years but we never met until I went to drop off the keys when my parents were about to leave the apartment”.

Olga who welcomed their set of twin girls in 2015, said their kids don’t have any Igbo or Russian names because they are citizens of the world. Olga said they would decide which tradition to follow, either Russian, British where they were born or Nigerian.

When asked whether she watches Nollywood movies, Olga said “I don’t watch Nollywood movies. Mikel watches a lot of Nigerian movies. I don’t watch them. I love listening to Nigerian music. They have nice beats”.

She says she would support Mikel and Nigeria during the world cup in Russia 2018.

The report added that Olga is not happy with the 32-year-old after he left England for Turkey, adding that the pair relationship has gone sour

Mikel and Olga have two twin daughters, Ava and Mia.

“I can confirm to you that all is not seemingly fine with them. Olga doesn’t like the city and has taken the children back to their base,” the newspaper quoted a source as saying.

“In fact, she warned him against the move to Turkey but he convinced her about it. Now she came visiting and doesn’t like it; the kids do not also like it there in Turkey which could now be a problem for Mikel.

Now Olga has told Mikel that she won’t return to visit him again which means he won’t also see the kids, leaving Mikel with only the chance of seeing his family in December during the Christmas break, a decision which I understand has left him sad and may unsettle him.”

Mikel Obi Expresses His Undying Love For Olga

In  November of 2021, In a post on his Instagram page on Wednesday, the father of two expressed his “unending” love for Olga.

“Happy birthday my love. I love you so much that words can’t describe. Me and peanuts love you to the moon and back happy birthday my love,” he wrote, accompanied by a photo of the lovebirds.

Their marriage has also been blessed with a set of female twins. The couple welcomed Mia and Ava in September 2015.

While Mikel Obi might be a global Icon, he keeps his relationship and family life extremely private.

The couple appear to be  still together and trying to make it work as a family contrary to people’s initial  beliefs.
