Popular Nigerian entertainment mogul, Michael Collins Ajereh known as Don Jazzy has been in the single’s club for over 10 years. Don Jazzy’s love life has been something of a closely guarded secret with the only thing he has shared being his crush on Rihanna.

How true Don Jazzy’s intentions towards Rihanna are, we can’t say. Perhaps, it’s just one of the excuses that those in entertainment give in order to enjoy their bachelorhood. Below are some of the highlights you can take away from Don Jazzy’s otherwise private love life. All indicators point to the fact that the Mavins boss is currently single.

DON JAZZY AND TIWA SAVAGE

Although, Don Jazzy remains one of the very few musicians who is rarely in the news because of a scandal or the other, his former Mavins signee, Tiwa Savage was linked to him in the blogs, websites and on social media when it was alleged that she was cheating on her husband with Don Jazzy and one or two other Mavins signees that we won’t name.

Don Jazzy was close to Tiwa Savage as with the other artistes signed to his record label and he always treated them as a family. This backfired when in 2016, Tiwa Savage’s husband; Tee Billz accused her of sleeping with Don Jazzy, 2Baba and some others before news of their separation became known to the public. Some days after this rant, Tee Billz was found sleeping in his car on Lekki Toll Gate bridge. Don Jazzy didn’t respond to the accusations.

DON JAZZY AND RIHANNA

Don Jazzy has repeatedly shared information of his crush on Rihanna on social media. Fans thought something would come out of the infatuation because Don Jazzy is one of the biggest out of Nigeria and they believed he would be able to make Rihanna notice him. However, Rihanna started dating ASAP Rocky last year and it seems that Don Jazzy moved on when he posted in December on his Instagram account that he “needs a new bae”.

Don Jazzy’s obsession over Rihanna spanned over two years as he often posted photo-shopped images of the two of them and also spammed her Instagram comment section. We believe this was just good natured fun on the part of the Mavin boss.

DON JAZZY AND HIS FIRST MARRIAGE

Few know this but Don Jazzy has been married before and it ended after two years. 18 years ago, he was married to Michelle Jackson; a UK based model and writer. He confessed that he ‘made music a priority instead of family’ and that was what led to the end of the marriage after just two years together.

Don Jazzy claims that his marriage to Michelle Jackson had issues because of his ambitious nature and he also revealed that he doesn’t intend to get married soon because he’s scared to hurt someone again as a result of his love and dedication to music.

DON JAZZY AND BABY MAMAS

At a time when it’s normalized for a celebrity to have a baby mama looking at the case of artistes like 2Baba, Wizkid, Davido, etc. Don Jazzy remains without a baby mama. He doesn’t show signs of going into a relationship or any sign of fathering any children through anyone outside wedlock. This should be considered normal behaviour but based on the actions of his peers, his decision to not raise a child outside marriage is praiseworthy.

Don Jazzy hasn’t shown signs of being pressured by social media or his peers to go into a relationship of any kind. For over a decade, we’ve seen those that started around his time like 2Baba and D’banj settle down but not the Don. Even Banky W that was balling all over Lagos and living the party lifestyle later settled down.

Don Jazzy seems content without any woman and makes music his priority while also helping every artiste he signs to achieve their potential. It’s a fact that artiste to be signed to the Mavins label has either won an award or at least get nominated.

Many don’t believe that Don Jazzy will ever get married but the Don hasn’t hit his forties yet. He still has time to wait for Rihanna (that type of obsession doesn’t vanish) a little longer or move on. Love might be just around the corner.
