The difference between Love and Lust in one word is Time. You still do everything you do when you are in love, with someone you are lusting after. The only difference is time. Time exposes whether it is love or lust. With love, time will show that the feelings are consistent but with lust, after they get what they want, they leave.
What Is Lust And What Is Love?
Lust is a state of exaggerated sexual and physical attraction to another person. Lust is physical excitement and craving for someone. If you see someone you really like and you begin to think about them sexually then you are lusting after them.
Love includes deeper emotional connections. Love means to be deeply committed. It’s an emotion that keeps people bonded together.
Love And Lust Have Nearly Similar Attributes
1. Love Is Generous, Lust Is Generous: Most times, you can’t differentiate love from lust when it comes to giving and generosity. Someone can spend everything on you and can still not be in love with you. Once they get what they want, they leave.
Generosity is not only about money and spending. Some people can be very generous with their time. They spend so much time with you and you think ‘he is the one, she is the one.’ Don’t be gullible, people can give you all the attention to get what they want.
2. Love Is Kind, Lust Is Kind: Love is kind and sometimes, lust disguises itself to be kind. Now for someone desperate to sleep with you, he or she can go the extra mile and be extremely kind.
3. Love And Lust Are Both Smart: We all know lust is smart and that’s why it disguises so well as love without anyone suspecting it. Love is smart. Find the one you want and fix the one you got. If you are dissatisfied with your love life, stop making excuses and start taking action.

How To Differentiate Love From Lust
1. Love Is patient. Love will wait even with the change in situations and circumstances. Love does not give up and love endures
Lust cannot endure. Once the person is done with you, they leave because they only came to you for that reason.
2. Lust is purely sexual attraction while love is passionate and compassionate.
How To Tell If It’s Love Or Lust in a Relationship
1. How The Person feels about your flaws: someone who is in love with you will love you regardless of your flaws.
Lust loses interest when they discover the person’s flaws.
2. What Makes You Both Happy In The Relationship?
If all that makes you both happy in the relationship is sex then you might just be lusting after each other. If sex is removed from your relationship, what else can you do?
Love feels Vulnerable because it involves you opening up to someone new. It’s intentionally about letting yourself be known by the other person.

Lust can be impulsive and desperate.
Love is steady and secure.

If your partner is not patient with you, then it’s lust. Love is patience. Lust dissipates over time. Love persists.
5. Lust is always selfish. Once there is a motive behind love, it’s mostly lust because once they have it, they go away. A woman can be attracted to a man because of his money and a man can be attracted to a woman because of her body. It is all Lust as long as it’s for a selfish reason.

When someone goes into a relationship because of sex then that’s all they want to do. They will not be interested in your life after that.
Love is driven by emotions. Love generates the need for closeness and it’s also accompanied by strong emotions.
Like it was written earlier, lust is a look-alike and that’s why you hear things like, ‘after he slept with me, he started ghosting’. Some people can’t just tell the difference.
People will say that you can fall in love with someone after a single passionate night and end up marrying and having kids. Yes, you can but at first, you were just lusting after each other and it says fall in love ‘after a passionate night.’
What am I trying to pass across is, you might see someone who you are just Physically attracted to and after having sex, that is when the feelings start to troop in. It was never planned. The intention was lust and love came in unwelcomed because it is a respecter of no man.
