How Did They Meet?

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen met in 2006 on the set of Legend’s “Stereo” music video. They are called the power couple because they love each other and they have no drama. The couple said they avoid dramas because they respect, admire and really love each other.

Chrissy told Cosmopolitan in June 2014 about how they met. She said she walked into John’s dressing room and found him ironing his clothes.

“I was doing this fake model-y dancing with the most dead eyes you’ve ever seen in a human. I walked into John’s dressing room to meet him, and he was ironing his underwear. I said, ‘You do your own ironing!?’ He said, ‘Of course I do.’ I gave him a hug.”

They hooked up after the video was finished. Teigen explained that they spent the whole day together before she said goodbye.

The couples kept in touch but were never really seen outside together. She said most times whenever she saw John on red carpets, he was always with women and she honestly didn’t let it get to her because she was not expecting anything serious and she wanted him to be himself. She said the worst thing that could happen is to lock someone down at the early age.

John Roger Stephens, known professionally as John Legend is a singer-songwriter, actor and record producer. He was born on the 28th of December 1978 and is currently 43 years old. He is from Springfield, Ohio, United States. John Legend has received a total of Twelve Grammy awards, he has won Academy Awards for Best Original Song, Tony Award and many more. He is the first black man and second youngest person to win all four of the major American entertainment awards, Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony (EGOT). He is also one of the Judges of the musical competition, The Voice.

Who is Chrissy Teigen?

Chrissy is a TV personality, model and cookbook author. She made her professional modelling debut in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2010 and later appeared on the 50th anniversary cover alongside Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge in 2014. She was born on the 30th of November, 1985 in Delta, Utah, United States. She has authored two cookbooks and co-hosts the musical competition, Lip sync battle. She is signed to IMG models.

Legend also admitted that he was with ladies and he used to have funny relationships before he met Teigen. He told Dax Shepard in 2020 that he kept his relationships Ill-defined so that it won’t be said that he was cheating. Teigen tweeted that before she got married she never really dated, instead, she’ll just show up in your house and start to live there. She said that was how John ended up too.

What Made John To Fall In Love With Chrissy?

Legend stated that he started to fall in love with his present wife because of how engaging, witty and funny she was. The pair finally got together sometime in 2009 and It went well except for the 30 minutes when they broke up. He said that at the beginning of the relationship, the pair texted and called a lot of times.

Thirty Minutes Break Up

John Legend confirmed that he once tried to break up with the model before they got married and that her reaction was hilarious. He told The Guardian that he was very stressed that day and that he told Teigen that he would be happier being single and she replied with a plain no.

Teigen said that John was on tour and he was in a bad mood because he lost his voice.

When Did They Get Married? 

After dating for four years, the two married on the 14th of September, 2013, in Lake Como, Italy. Some clips of their wedding were featured in John Legend’s music video, All of me.

On the day of the wedding, the ceremony was delayed for about four hours because of flight delays from family members. After everything, the wedding still went well as it was planned. It was an amazing day as stars like Brooklyn Decker, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Kanye West and many others graced their wedding.

John Legend And Chrissy Teigen Have Babies

After being together for nearly three years, the peaceful couples were joined by a newcomer, their baby girl and first child together, Luna in April 2016 and their son, Miles, in May 2018.

Just three months after giving birth to Luna, Chrissy was diagnosed with postpartum depression. Chrissy said she never believed she could have it because she has all the resources and helps. Her mum was there and she had nannies.

Miles on the other hand was diagnosed after his delivery with plagiocephaly or flat head Syndrome. Miles wore a helmet for three months before finally taking it off. His mum posted a video of him and her. She congratulated him for graduating from wearing a helmet in March 2019. 

The Pandemic Lockdown

John Legend shared during an interview that the lockdown period was still lively in his house. It was filled up with laughter and music. He recalled a time when his wife, Teigen, did a wedding for Luna’s stuffed dolls and he was asked to sing Selena Gomez’s Hands to myself.

Both of them flatter themselves in interviews and give themselves accolades for being a good parents. 

The Death Of Jack

There’s nothing so sad as a parent losing their child. In 2020, Teigen discovered she was pregnant after her breast implant removal. She said before the surgery, she did a pregnancy test and it came out negative. Unfortunately, it was not negative. She found out she was pregnant on June 19, 2020, just right after her husband released his album, Bigger Love and the two revealed the news in his Wild music video in August. They called the baby Jack.

In October that year, the couple lost their baby. Teigen had pregnancy complications which led to stillbirth. She took it to her Instagram page to announce the bad news with a long heartfelt caption.

John Legend stated in an interview in November 2020, that the experience even brought him closer to his wife and now he loved her more than ever.

In February 2021, Teigen told Ellen DeGeneres that her children, Luna and Miles still talk about baby Jack and it was so lovely. She said it was beautiful and sweet.

In 2021, Teigen who is well known for her social presence on Twitter was dragged for being a bully. She was called out by Courtney Stooden a non-binary model for bullying. Stooden stated that Teigen sends her messages like, ‘i can’t wait for you to die.’ 

Although Teigen apologized publicly in May on Twitter, the deed had already been done.

She lost partnerships at Target Bloomingdale’s and Macys and she became inactive on Twitter. John legend stood by his wife through thick and thin and never stopped supporting her privately and publicly.

John Legend and his wife joke around on social media and in real life. The both of them appear everywhere together. For the red carpet, Met Gala, Grammy’s and so many others. 2022 Grammy’s, the couples showed up with their little ones and it was a full family outing. 

Legend says that his wife pushes him to be funnier and bold and Teigen says that it feels like he’s her teacher because he teaches her everything she doesn’t know most easily. She added that people think she’s munching off him because he’s very successful but the truth is that they both take care of each other. She says she loves to cook for him and spoil him with delicacies. 

How this couple go on without drama is still a course that should be studied. Not like they have not had sagas before. They have it because they are celebrities but they deal with it most maturely and respectfully. 

Teigen said she can’t wait to see herself and Legend with silver hair, meaning she’s ready to grow old with him.
