HOW GIVING YOUR MAN SOME SPACE CAN MAKE HIM FALL FOR YOU AGAIN
I once heard a relationship expert say that one of the steps to getting your relationship to the altar and keep your marriage going is to consistently shift your attention away from your spouse and give all that attention to yourself.
I argued this for so long in my heart because what we have been told is that a man and woman needs to always be together for their marriage to work. After consulting with married men, we can safely conclude that the relationship coach who made the above postulation may actually be correct.
No matter how much a man loves a woman, he yearns sometimes for his space. Women also long for their space but because they are more emotionally reactive than men, they can do with the attention. This attention can become choking for a man sometimes.
Some men keep late nights not because they don’t love their wives or enjoy her company but because they miss that old-fashioned ‘me-time’ which they believe marriage has taken away. They want a woman who loves them but sometimes they also want a woman who is so busy that they have to be the one to check up on her and ask, ‘are we good?’.
It has been said over and over that men are hunters by nature. That’s why once a man wins the heart of a woman, he relaxes and do not see the need to consistently win her heart again. Giving a man some space can actually make him desire you and your presence regularly.
Sometimes, it takes missing a woman to remember how much you love your wife. This is not to mean that we should now start deliberately avoiding our spouses or go on a long leave of absence from your matrimonial home. Far from it.
You can start with not choking them with calls every now and then. Save it for the time when he’s ready to go to bed. Snuggle into his arms and ask, ‘anything interesting happened today?’
Visit the cinema or go to church alone. Call or send him an SMS telling him that you are doing so. Intentionally, avoid inviting him. Let him be the one to say “I am interested in that as well” or “Great, enjoy yourself. I’ll see you at home”.
When a man sees that a woman can be happy without him, his level of attraction and desire for that woman increases. As a woman, you must be deliberate about increasing your attraction-quotient in the mind of your man.
Many men are dying and looking for space. They fear their women will take it the wrong way when they ask or when they don’t show up at home. Many women must come to terms with the fact that a little space in a day, week or month is not a bad. It actually does more good to your relationship.
The trick is to be busy enough for him to miss you and be available enough for him not to feel being choked.
Being clingy ALL the time will soon make the other person feel you are too dependent. Taking some initiatives and doing things all by yourself because you love yourself and want your spouse to love you, is actually a very good thing.
