A Kenyan chef known as Malima Mohammed has been on the news lately after she supposedly surpassed Hilda Baci’s Guiness world record for the longest cooking time while standing.  Let’s recall that Nigerian Chef, Hilda Baci recently broke the record for longest cooking time while standing with 93 hours and 11 minutes dethroning Indian chef who previously held the record, Lata Tondon.

As the buzz surrounding this new achievement continues to fill the air, a lot of contrasting views have emerged about Malima Mohammed’s unofficial record. While some have embraced her success with open arms, others have questioned and criticized the swiftness with which she broke the record seeing as Hilda Bacci had just broken the record 2 months ago.

The lingering question remains: Has Malima Mohammed truly clinched the title, securing her place in history?

Presently, the answer remains uncertain, as the Guinness Book of Records maintains very strict rules to authenticate each record-breaking. A  thorough verification is essential to ensure the guidelines are  carefully adhered to and to prevent any errors, hence why their confirmation takes weeks and in some cases months.
