The Beginning Of Love – Basket Mouth And Elsie Okpocha
Basket Mouth met Elsie Okpocha for the first time in her school, University of Lagos where she was reading creative Arts at the time.
He was promoting one of his shows and was sharing some flyers in a hostel when he saw her pass by. He immediately felt a deep sense of attraction towards her and walked up to her to strike a conversation.
When he asked for her number initially, she had given it to him without hesitation. He called the number later only to hear a guy’s voice on the other end of the line. Turns out she had given him a fake number, it had left him realIy angry.
He however did not relent. He kept going back to the same spot where he had initially met her hoping that one day he would see her pass by. And one day luck shone on him because he did see her pass by again and he immediately proceeded to ask for her number again.
This time around, she gave him the correct number. However, Elsie was not receptive to him and so out of anger, he deleted her number.
But, it was as if fate was determined to bring them together because he bumped into her a third time. This time around she was conversing with some friends and he approached her and asked for her number. He decided to himself that that would be the very last time he would make an attempt to reach out to her and truly it was because she soon began to warm up to him.
While he was definitely attracted to her at first sight, it was not a love at first sight but he had a feeling that she was the one for him.
They dated for 7 solid years before deciding to tie the knot in 2010.
He tied the knot with Elsie in Giwa Barracks, Falomo, Ikoyi, Lagos. The wedding was a huge fair with many of his colleagues in the entertainment industry being present.

A Lesson To Take From Their Relationship
An important lesson to take from this is that, Everything takes work for it to bloom. If you’re not willing to put in the work in your relationship or any situation for that matter, it’s difficult for it to bloom.
Most times people, drool over instagram couples and picture perfect relationships without knowing the amount of work, time and effort that the couples put in to make it work.
A happy relationship is more than just thoughts or words, you have to be willing to work for it.
