Why My Marriages Failed – Pastor Chris Okotie

In June 2012, Pastor Chris Okotie, informed his congregation that he had closed the chapter of marriage after his second marriage had ended with no chance of reconciliation. Pastor Okotie is the founder of Household of God Church. He stated that called had called him to a journey of service as marriage was not part of it.

He said:

“God told me that He didn’t call me to get married. He said, “He called me to be like Paul, but He tried to stop me, and I didn’t listen at the time”.

“The life He called me to live is to be dedicated to Him and the work He called me for. So marriage is not on the menu again.”

Recall that he got married to his first wife, Tina, in 1986 when he was still a pop star artist. He went into full Ministry in 1987 and he and Tina’s marriage lasted for 11 years because it ended in 2001. After ending things with Tina, Pastor Okotie got married to Stephanie Henshaw in 2008 and their relationship was even shorter than the last one. They were married for only four years and they separated in 2012.
