Some Home Dates to Connect You and Your Partner

With the third wave of coronavirus going around now, some fear that we may have to go on another lockdown. Should that be the case, we have just the thing for you so that your romance doesn’t fizzle out or fade as long as you don’t neglect going on dates.

Even if it isn’t a lockdown that keeps you home or if you just need something fun you can do together at home to keep the sparks flying and tempers at bay, you can try any or all of these dates at home ideas or rituals together or virtually if you’re separated.

HOME DATES

  • Play a board game. If you’re apart, play a game online using playingcards.io or houseparty.com or use iMessage games.
  • Learn a new language together using Duolingo.
  • Dress up for date night.
  • Watch each other’s favorite movie. If you’re apart, try hosting a Netflix Party.
  • Get crafty! Make a scrapbook of all your favorite memories together.
  • Host Happy Hour with craft cocktails or cocktails. If you’re apart, cheers over FaceTime or Zoom.
  • Attend a virtual concert together.
  • Bake or cook a new meal together. If you’re apart, try making the same meal and share your taste test over FaceTime or Zoom.
  • Create line drawings of each other—don’t look at the paper or lift the pen.
  • Dance to your favorite music. If you’re apart, make each other a virtual “mixtape” to listen to.
  • Choose a song and rewrite the lyrics to it. Perform it for each other if you’re feeling brave.
  • Play strip poker.
  • Teach each other about something you love.
  • Write each other love letters.
  • Watch an insightful documentary and learn something new!
  • Read a book together.
  • Listen to each other’s favorite album.
  • Have a cook-off with the same ingredients but make different things.
  • Put on a fashion show. Don’t forget the runway music. If you’re apart, play the role of fashion photographer and send each other photos of your stylish looks.
  • Build a fort.
  • Karaoke night—stream karaoke videos on YouTube and sing along.
  • Play Pictionary or charades.
  • Go to the “spa.” Light some candles, put on facials, maybe even give each other a massage. (AT HOME).

In conclusion, a routine sometimes kills relationships and when you’re stuck at home together, things can happen that annoy you more easily. So take the time at home to take each other on dates, have fun… and wait for three dates before you give a kiss.. you don’t have to do that though. Love and light, Wonder.
