This is a surprising question a lot of people ask.
It is almost as if you’re allowed to stop living or tone parts of yourself down once you get married.
Marriage does not have to be boring.
The idea that couples should stop trying after getting married is a completely outrageous one.
Date nights should be Inclusive to everybody.
Whether you’re single, dating or married.
The amount of married couples who stop going out on dates after the initial stages of their marriage is quite an alarming number. And I am talking about proper dates that involve dressing up and looking fanciful not just get togethers a or other social events.
It is extremely important, even more so than any other form of relationship that married couples have fun and spend special quality time with each on a consistent basis.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed, and for your once uncluttered life to get really busy and messy after marriage especially throwing in the kid factor. This is why married couples should take out time to dress up for themselves and enjoy each other’s company.
Some of the reasons (but not only limited to) why married couples should still go on dates include;
-To Appreciate themselves
Taking out the time to dress up for your partner and go on a date with them can reignite dying feelings and make you remember why you got married in the first place.
It’s very easy to forget sometimes how attracted and into your partner you are. But taking out those vital time away from every other person and just breathing in each other’s scent can be a great way to appreciate all the efforts put in the marriage and also reaffirm the love you both feel you each other.
-Great For Mental Health
This is especially particular for married couples with kids. It is no small fit navigating children in a marriage. It is quite easy to get lost in the chaos and even forget bits and pieces of yourself.
There are lots of mothers and even fathers who have had their mental health decline after having kids. It is not as easy as people make it out to be. Taking care of children can be a herculean task and can mount inconsiderable pressure on the parents.
Date nights offer them a a small chance at retaining some of the sanity lost. A great date night idea for married couples could be a walk in the Park, holding hands and just appreciating the stars and nature.
-Better communication
Date night help married couple communicate more. This is because they are taking out the time to do something significant for themselves and so naturally their guards are down.
This is the best time to talk about the most uncomfortable conversations.
They do not have to sweep them under the rug like they would on a normal day.
It’s an opportunity to air opinions gently and hopefully resolve them too.
It is also an opportunity to go over each others feelings. Know how each person is feeling and how to step in to them feel better.
You can have this conversations on a normal day but it is so much easier to achieve it on a date night.
-Rebuilds Intimacy
So many married couples loose their intimacies after a while.
And I’m not just talking about sexual intimacy.
I’m talking about the moments when the chemistry is so genuine and tangible you can almost reach out and touch it.
I mean precious moments when your minds sync effortlessly into each other.
It’s natural for intimacy to gradually fade out especially after long years in a marriage.
A date night cam be one of the first steps to rebuilding it. A perfect date night idea to rebuilding intimacy is a night out in an private sensual restaurant. This will not only set the tone and atmosphere for the rest of the date but also allow the couple time to really look at each other and actually see them for who they are.
Date nights can be a great way to get back some of the butterflies lost in the course of a marriage.
-Re-affirms Commitment
There’s no better reminder to love and to cherish your partner than a well thought out date plan. A great date is a perfect opportunity to remind yourself of promises and vows and how essential it to keep them.
It is a great time to talk about recommitting to each other.
There is a robust statistic that shows that date nights work far better for married couples than it does for couples who are just dating.
This means as a married person, you should inculcate date nights with your partner in your routine at least every month.
