Love Languages Recognizing and Speaking the Language of Love

Good day, everyone and if it isn’t really a good day and it’s ‘one of those days’, hopefully, it gets better. Yesterday, I wrote about the wrong reasons for getting into a relationship. As I’m a very avid supporter of equal measure philosophies, in that spirit, I’ll write on the right reasons for getting into a relationship today.

According to a renowned relationship expert, the most common unhealthy reason why people get into relationships is that they are not receiving enough love and they need a partner to give it to them with the belief that a partner will make them feel worthy and complete. Some healthy reasons for wanting a relationship are:

SHARING LOVE AND CARE

There is a difference between wanting to share the love and wanting to receive love from someone. It is better to resolve the issues of self-love and worth that you probably have before finding a romantic partner.

It’s when you love and care for yourself that determines when you’re ready to meet someone. When you love yourself, it’s easier for someone to love you back.

GROWTH

It is a proven fact that we are transformed to some level, by the people we allow into our lives, we all have that friend who influences our tastes in music or games we didn’t like until a certain person in our social circle started playing it often. For example, I started watching anime in University because of friends, in that regard, the friends I made there added something to me, that is, made me grow.

Now, speaking about your partner, that is, someone you are in a relationship with, without a doubt, they will have more influence on us and transform or make us grow at a bigger rate than friends or acquaintances. Many people have changed for the better by a partner who, lovingly and firmly, points out both their strengths and weaknesses. We also learn by observing our partner. We “mirror” the things we like about them – a scientifically proven fact.

MUTUAL SUPPORT

Man is a social being, and many of us want someone we can trust and rely on to see us through in life. In the context of a relationship, we need emotional, spiritual and financial support from our partner to live a happy and comfortable life together.

Having a loving partner who supports your dreams and passions is also crucial to happiness in the relationship. When you find someone that is “all in” on what you want to achieve in life, things are much easier and enjoyable.

FRIENDSHIP AND FUN

A lot of us have heard people say things like ‘I’m dating my best friend’ or ‘I’m married to my best friend’. That should be expected since you’re intimately involved with someone who knows you better than most friends could. So, as cheesy as such statements may be, they are true.

Being best friends and remembering to have fun is an important part of a healthy relationship, and it is nice to find more fun things to do with your partner, especially if you share mutual interests.

FAMILY AND CHILDREN

This is a major factor for wanting a relationship for those who want a family and children as we are all aware that not everyone does, I have a friend that once said she wishes her kid could skip the child stage and just become an adult. It’s important to discuss this early in the dating process.

Having a family is a wonderful thing should you want it and having children while remaining with your partner is deeply satisfying; parenting becomes easier when you can share the challenges involved with a partner.

Hope you had a nice read, thanks for getting all the way here, still your friendly prodigy, Wonder….
