Queen Elizabeth Passes On, One year after Prince Philip

Queen Elizabeth has passed on at the ripe old age of 96 ending the longest reign ever in British history. This was announced by Buckingham palace on the 8th of September, 2022z

Queen Elizabeth’s death is coming over a year after her husband Prince Philips death. Let’s recall that back in April, 2021, the Duke of Edinburgh who was also the longest serving royal aide in history passed away at the age of 99.

The statement issued by Buckingham Palace reads,

“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow,”

Queen Elizabeth was not just only the longest running monarch in the history of Britain but also the oldest head of state.

No official details have been released about what will happen over the coming days, but it is anticipated that the Queen will be given a full state funeral, as is traditional to mark the death of a monarch.

Upon the Queen’s death, Prince Charles, who is the oldest son to the late Queen has immediately become the new monarch.
