2022 was definitely a year where we saw the demise of a lot of marriages, particularly, celebrity marriages.
While there has been so many reasons for this celebrity separations, divorces and even deaths, here’s a look at celebrity marriages that ended because of domestic violence in 2022;
IVD And Bimbo
The late Bimbo passed away on October 15th of 2022 after a long 48 hour battle in the intensive care unit of a hospital.
Before her death, she had previously disclosed that she was going through a lot of physical and emotional abuse in her marriage with her husband popularly known as IVD.
When the news of her hospitalization and then eventually death hit the media,her husband received a lot of negative backlash.
Friends and family came out to reveal the real reason the late Bimbo died.
According to the sources, the late Bimbo and IVD had engaged in a fight which caused Bimbo to set the house on fire, setting herself ablaze in the process while IVD escaped.
Osinachi Nwachukwu And Peter Nwachukwu
This is probably one of the saddest stories to come out in 2022.
The famous gospel singer, Osinachi lost her life after her husband kicked her in the chest and this placed her on life support for 5 days before she eventually slipped away and died.
It was later revealed that Osinachi had been going through a series of terrible physical and emotional abuse in the hands of her husband, Peter.
Her kids even confirmed that he would send them to climb on top of her body till she was writhing in pain.
It was also reported that he use to flog her with a cane and also lock her up s tho e even when she had important events to attend which she would perform.
Sina Rambo And Korth
On the 13th of December, Korth, the now estranged wife to Sina Rambo (cousin to Davido) took to her instagram story to announce that she and Sina were going their separate ways.
She explained that her marriage was coming to an end simply because she refused to continue in a physically abusive relationship.
She revealed that barely days after her cesarean section, he asked her to cook and clean up the house and that even while pregnant, she was turned to a nanny.
Do2dtun And His Wife
Popular On Air personality Do2dtun and his wife announced their plans to separate earlier in December of 2022.
Omotayo, the wife was the one who filed for separation over some allegations of domestic violence, unending reckless emotional abuse and forced abortion.
Chacha Eke And Austin Faani
Earlier in the year, Chacha Eke announced directly on her instagram page that she was done with her marriage.
She also revealed that this was because she did not want to die or go “inexplicably missing”.
This of course hinted at the fact that she was in an abusive relationship.
“If push comes to shove and suddenly I am incommunicado; my lawyers, the welfare department and the Nigeria Police Force have my testimonials in recorded video clips/statements set for public release on all social media apps and national newspapers.”
