Baba Ijesha Sentenced To 16 Years Imprisonment For Sexually Assaulting A Minor

Olanrewaju James, also known as  Baba Ijesha has been on the Nigerian crime radar since 2021 after reports spring out that he engaged in sexual activities with a minor.

Baba Ijesha’s rape trial lasted over 12 months since his arrest and arraignment in June 2021.

On Thursday 14th July 2022, in a two-hour judgement on Thursday, the judge convicted Baba Ijesha of indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault and attempted sexual assault.

He was sentenced to 16 years in prison to run concurrently.

This means that the movie actor will spend about 5 years behind bars.

He was found guilty of four of six offences; two charges attract five years while the remaining two attract three years.

This is one the rare times that the Nigerian judicial system is a true and fair game. Here’s to hoping he serves all of the punishment given to him.

We also pray and hope that Princess, the 14 year old minor he assaulted as well as  her family move past all of these horrid nightmarish incidents.
