Who is Bovi?

Abovi Ugboma, widely known as Bovi is a Nigerian stand-up comedian, actor and writer. He has been married to the love of his life, Kris Asimonye Ugboma since 2009 and they both have three children, Elena, David and Chuchu. It has been 13 years of marital bliss and we are here for more. It will be officially 13 by September 19 2022.

Bovi has not suffered any major scandal from the public or the media except for the time he made a post that seemed like he was going to have a second wife, and the time he and his wife pranked his best friend that the comedian was cheating.

Celebrating Anniversaries

The two have never ceased to celebrate each other on their wedding anniversary. It is always a beautiful thing. On their 11th anniversary, they took to their personal Instagram pages to share love up pictures of them. Bovi wrote a short message saying their marriage was like Music and he was grateful. Kris on the other hand was very expressive.

Prank With His Wife

Bovi pranked his best friend, Mohammed, some days before his 40th birthday. The actor uploaded a video where he and his wife called Mohammed and his wife asked if Bovi was with him to test his loyalty. Mohammed, who did not have an idea of what was happening, replied by saying Bovi was with him not knowing Bovi was sitting beside his wife.

Men slammed Bovi for abusing the Bro Code. Some Netizens also criticised the prank and bashed him for doing that to his friend.

Bovi and His Second Wife Speculation Post

Bovi in December 2021 ended the year with dragging from fans after he made a post on his Instagram talking about how second wife was hungrying him. He wrote,

“Who took my name to Shiloh for marriage o? Because second wife is hungrying me this morning.”

The whole thing died down and Bovi was back to his silent private life, away from the public and the media. In 2022, the wife of Bovi shared her Health issue when she battled with Ectopic Pregnancy.

Kris’s Ectopic Pregnancy

Kris called it a near-death experience as she shared what had happened. This was on the 14th of January 2022. The Ectopic Pregnancy ruptured inside one of the fallopian tubes. She said she was preparing her things for her flight to Lagos which was going to be on the 15th of January, a Saturday. But then, she woke up in pain. She said,

“Friday, the 14th of January 2022. I had packed up my luggage preparing for my flight back to Lagos the next day being Saturday.”

But then I woke up with excruciating pain. I couldn’t move, I couldn’t even turn, I had to stay still to control the pain,” she said

“I typically have a high threshold for pain. A very, very, very high threshold for pain but this was even beyond labour pain. I couldn’t control it. I reluctantly called my husband. He had asked me to go to the hospital several times in the days leading up to this moment.

“30 minutes later, this pain still wouldn’t go away. My husband again, asked me to go to the hospital but I said no. “I’ll be fine don’t worry, tomorrow I’m back home”. I have a 10 0’clock at David’s school, I can’t miss it. I took some painkillers, and it seemed like the pain was finally beginning to go down. I could stand upright at this point.

“About an hour later, I started to feel like I was going to pass out. I called 999 but I couldn’t speak, then I passed out. Somehow, I miraculously woke up to numerous missed calls from the emergency service,” she added.

“I got up, put on my wig and found myself heading to see my son in school whilst in pain. I had genuinely assumed the pain had subsided. I promised I’d see my son by 10am and I wasn’t going to disappoint him, so I pushed my pain aside, ordered a taxi and found myself limping to his school.

It was her son’s school nurse who saw her and knew something was wrong. The nurse forced her to go to a hospital and instructed her driver to take Kris to the hospital. That was where she figured she had Ectopic Pregnancy.

Kris stated that she was in so much pain to the extent that she started praying for strength and hoped she made it out alive. She rounded up by thanking God for her life and the good people around her. She said,

“This new year, I am alive and well and I’ll be back home to my family and this party called life soon.”
