A Poem For My Past Loves

I’ve never loved someone who I thought or even now think wasn’t worth my time, perhaps you can say I didn’t know what love was early on, but I’ve never felt wrong, the ones I shared things with and those who nothing came out of were all worth it. The poem you’ll read now, I write for all the girls I’ve loved, of course, some lines are repeated about the same person, and some lines refer to two people so the length of this poem will in no way give any hints as to how many girls I claim to have ‘loved’.
– – – – – – – – –
To all the girls I’ve loved
This is for you
The one that loved me too
I was too late to say how I feel
The one who cooked me food
You said I was too thin
The one who said I was a fool
Funny how I think of you still
The one who loved her books
Who didn’t care much for looks
To the one who called me ‘kiddo.’
We both know who’s the kid.
To the one who made me love to read
You said I was the one, a good fib
To the one that tried to tell me how to feel
That you would be bad for me
The one who said she’d never leave
I don’t think again, we’ll see
The one who’s smarter than me
I know we’ll never be
To the one who knew I’d flee
That always held me close
To the one that was my first kiss
With you, I enjoyed the bliss
To the one who made me happy
I hope I made you happy too
To the one who danced in the rain
Who thinks she looks rather plain
To all the Girls I’ve Loved
Every moment with you, I cherished
I had a conclusion in mind, but it seemed too cheesy and corny, so I’ll drop it and end with my slogan:
Let’s share love, light and laughter.
