It’s December again, a time to celebrate Christmas and a season of good cheer, during this period, a lot of people will start posting Christmas couple pictures, and a lot of jokes about the mistle-toe will be passed around. My purpose for writing this article is to encourage everyone in this period not to let anyone pressure them.
Yes, the purpose of this website is to help people in relationships and to get into relationships. I would also like to impress upon everyone reading that is still single that patience is a virtue for an excellent reason.
Apart from biology rushing you for those that want to have their own kids, this is for women who feel the urgency to find a life partner by 40; no one else should be able to pressure you o. Biological clocks are an annoying fact and make the hard process of looking for a partner more stressful. Still, left to some, they would rather adopt children with the right partner than have biological children with the wrong one.
The pressure from couples being lovey-dovey on social media can sometimes be very overwhelming for some and push them into relationships they regret. Don’t let the fear of not finding love, impatient decisions by thinking love is good enough for a relationship push you into decisions you’ll regret in the long run.
I would like to, however, suggest that you take this time to work on yourself, practise self-love, enjoy self-care, work on self-improvement and grow. Learn to derive comfort in your own skin again and don’t look for a relationship now if you’re not in one. Don’t let ‘Wahala for who no get babe’ get to you, don’t let social media push you into unintentional decisions and learn to love yourself more and declutter in this period so heading into the new year, you can have room for someone else.
I want to end this article by saying that relaxing in December doesn’t mean you are resting to rush into the race to search for a mate in January, relax, plan, but relax, getting married has been made to feel like a race, having a partner has been made to feel like a competition. Still, it really isn’t. Love and light, Wonder.
