What Causes Obsession In A Relationship?

There’s a huge line between loving someone and obsessing over the person.
Love is a natural feeling, obsessions are not only unnatural but are also very unhealthy.
Most times, deep obsession borders on deep mental health issues and usually involves therapy to successfully get over it.
What are some of the possible causes of obsession in a relationship?
Difficulty Accepting Change
There are people who arebuilt to be resistsnt to any kind of change. It’s a compulsion they can’t seem to get a grip on.
So, when they see their partners changing, their first instinct is to look for ways to stop those changes. This can lead to them obsessing over their partners.
This stems from a place of fear. Sometimes, they get scared that if their partner changes, they might not want to be with them anymore or that their change will not be personally beneficial to them.
The need for order
Their are people who deal with OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder.
Just like OCD can affect any part of your life, it can also affect your relationship. This means that people who are dealing with OCD in their relationships will feel the need to control their partner and all their actions.
Which can lead to wanting to know all the tiny details of their life and even stalk them to make sure that they’re keeping to the rules made up in their own head.
Obsessive And Intrusive Thoughts About Hurting Others
When you’re constantly having intrusive thoughts about hurting others or losing control of situations, you will seek to correct such thoughts by doing the polar opposite.
This can lead to obsession.
