We’re Just Ordinary People, Love Is Not Perfect, Said John Legend

In an age where people fall in and out of love, you may be wondering why this is happening. Questions like “Why can’t I find love?” “Why is there no trust in my relationship?” “When will I be happy?” come to mind. The inability to read the minds of others has made it possible for people to hide their true intentions from lovers. If only we could read minds, we would then be able to choose our lovers wisely. Still, people keep on loving, whether it will end in tears or not.

John Legend in ‘Ordinary People’ talks about the dynamics of people and love,

“Girl I’m in love with you

This ain’t the honeymoon

We’re passed the infatuation phase

We’re right in the thick of love

At times we get sick of love

It seems like we argue every day”

“I know I misbehaved

And you made your mistakes

And we both still got room to grow

And though love sometimes hurts

I still put you first

And we’ll make things work

But I think we should take it slow”

These lyrics show that although his lover hurts him, and he gets sick of love, he still remains in love, enchanted by his other half and searching for ways to grow with her in his love. Although, he can’t ignore the times he’s been hurting and also wants to take things slow.

John Roger Stephens aka ‘John Legend’ is a 17 Grammy Award-winning artist with 31 nominations in his musical career. He sings about love, people, and the dynamics of the two.
