In her candid advice, Venita stated, “Don’t marry young, don’t go and do ‘I’m doing high school sweetheart, we die here,’ just be young! Be young, enjoy your life. When you’re tired, get married.” She went on to share that she wouldn’t allow her own daughter to get married before the age of 28.
Venita believes that young ladies should explore different aspects of life and gain diverse experiences before making the lifelong commitment of marriage.
She expressed, “Do not marry young. I’m saying ideally — okay if my daughter came and approached me that she was ready to get married, if my daughter approaches me, as long as she’s not, I swear to God, not up to 28, we can rock with it. Anything below 28, please no.”
According to Venita, the period before 28 is crucial for self-discovery, trying new things, and gaining a deeper understanding of oneself.
She believes that entering into marriage at a later age allows individuals to make more informed decisions about their life partner and ensures a stronger foundation for a lasting union.
