Sope and Kola, #ItSoKay2022.

Sometimes when you meet ‘the one’ things might not be in place as you want it to be. You are expecting to be single, the sparks to fly immediately, date and marry like the next year. Sope and Kola’s case tells us otherwise.

Sope met Kola in the church in 2013 and it was up until 2020 that they started getting attached to each other. In fact, when they met, Sope was in a relationship and Kola lived in the States.

How Did They Meet?

Kola came to Lagos after working for some time in the state. He was staying with his sister who was going to the same church as Sope. He followed his sister to church and after service, he saw Sope and asked his sister to help him get ‘the fine babe’s’ number while he sat in the back seat of the car because he was shy. Sope confirmed that things didn’t kick up immediately between them because of her relationship status and they were both in separate countries.

Things started to align in October 2022 and they started to talk every day. In April 2021, she went to the UK for vacation and Kola welcomed her at the airport and also asked her to be his girlfriend.

The Proposal

Kola proposed to Sope on the 26th of December, 2021. According to Sope, he had rented the rooftop at Carlton Downtown Hotel and he had also paid a proposal company to plan it but things didn’t fall in place because Sope had to travel back to Lagos because of the Covid-19 ban. She travelled on the 24tg of December. Kola did the most amazing thing by travelling to Lagos on the 26th to propose to her at a dinner she was having with her friends.
