Signs The Person You Are Texting On Social Media Is A Catfish

Spotting a catfish is no easy task. You might even need to hire a private investigator to do a proper and detailed investigation before you can truly know.
However, their are some tell-tale signs that the person you are dating is a catfish.
They Avoid Showing Their Face
A catfish would never give you an opportunity to see their real face. If you have been communicating with a person on for an extended period of time and they have not broached the idea of a video call neither have they responded to their video call, their is a high probability that they’re cat fishing. It makes sense since they are not who they say they are so, most likely they would not want to reveal their real faces to you.
They may give excuses for why they can’t do it, like a broken camera or simply that they’re shy.
Catfish also avoid meeting up in person. They may agree to meet and then not show, come up with excuses for why they can’t meet, or avoid the topic altogether.
Their story seems too grande
They don’t just make up images, they also make up stories. And their stories are always unique and grand. They go over board because they’re trying to so hard to impress you.
There has been instances where a person has reported that her catfish said the large corporation he worked for was opening an office in her small beach town, so he would be there a lot. The story seemed highly unlikely, and it was .
Most times they will appear to be really rich and to have high paying jobs and to belong to family of wealth. All of these stories they cook up to make themselves appear better.
They may invent stories designed to make you feel sorry for them, like a bad relationship or a difficult family background. They also do this to distract you from the fact that you have not physically seen them.
They Are Extremely Romantic Right Away
A catfish will most times love bomb you. They will seek to overwhelm you with loving messages or words — to distract you from asking questions about their identity. A catfish may even try to get you to commit to them in a relationship, even though you haven’t met them in person.
You should not under any circumstance, send nudes or sexual photos to a person you haven’t met in person. Even with people you have met their is a great risk attached to it not to talk of a potential catfish. They may attempt to blackmail you with the images later in the future or might even sell it online to make money.
They cancel meet up plans
When you are talking to someone you meet online, the end goal is always and should always be to see them offline which is physically.
If it feels like you never seem to make defined plans with the person you are talking to online, then, this could be a sign that you are being catfished. For most people, the end goal of meeting someoneth online is eventually meeting in person, but if your new romance isn’t heading in that direction, you should definitely want to know why.
And if the reason is full of drama, that can be a sign in itself. A catfish would normally spin dramatic stories that might elicit sympathy just to distract you from the fact that they can’t meet up
They are super good looking
This is not to to say that you’re not worthy of someone who is hella good looking because you are. But, if the photos you’re being sent seem model quality, chances are they’re being stolen from someone else. Just think about it: How many people on “Catfish” actually use random, mediocre pictures they found online? Almost none.
Your Guts Tells You They Are A Catfish
Trusting your gut is useful in all kinds of sticky situations, including this one. If you’re getting the feeling that something’s not right, you’re probably onto something.
“If there’s any part of you that has this gut feeling that’s something weird — it is,” psychologist Lucy Papillon told MTV. “I always tell people to trust their intuition. A lot of people like to ignore that.”
