Music’s Power Couple (Beyonce And JayZ)

When you talk about music’s most powerful couple, you immediately think of Beyonce and JayZ. Beyonce is undoubtedly one of the most popular female singers in the world and the most amazing performer. Jay Z has one of the most successful record labels in the world and has written, recorded and produced some of the best rap music. These two powerful individuals have had their fair share of love and the rollercoaster that comes when the butterflies go away.

Who Is JayZ?

Shawn Corey Carter Popularly known as JayZ is an American rapper, record executive and media proprietor. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, the United States on the 4th of December 1969.

Who Is Beyonce?

Beyonce Giselle Knowles Carter is an American singer, songwriter and actress. She rose to fame in the 1900s as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child. She has had hit solo albums like Dangerously in love, B’day, I am Sasha Fierce, and others

Beyonce and JayZ are the ones to keep quiet about their relationship but this hasn’t reduced the interests of fans. 

Their love life begins between the years 1997-2000.

How Did They Meet?

They met when Beyonce had just turned 18 years old.

In 2001, Beyonce and JayZ did a Vanity Fair magazine shoot together with other artists. JayZ had said they were “trying” to date each other but nothing was confirmed yet.

Since then, they collaborated on their music featuring each other including their iconic Bonnie and Clyde music video but no dating was confirmed by any parties.

In 2003 when JayZ was asked about his relationship with Beyonce, he had shown his interest in wanting to date Beyonce by saying who wouldn’t want to date her.

The pair were spotted going out together. Finally, in 2004, the pair attended their first event as a couple confirming the rumours about their relationship.

But things started to look like it wasn’t going well when JayZ rapped in a song that Beyonce loved her work more than him.

Apparently, they reconciled because, in 2008, they got married at a secret wedding in New York. They didn’t exchange rings, rather they tattooed IV on their ring fingers. The IV probably indicates the month they married which was April.

Two years after their marriage, Beyonce, in her documentary “Life is but a dream” stated that she was pregnant but when she went for another check-up, there was no heartbeat. She had miscarried. But in 2011, after her MTV video music awards performance, Beyonce opened her blazer and rubbed her stomach to reveal her baby bump. The announcement received the highest tweet per second.

In 2012,  on the 7th of January, the duo welcomed their baby girl, Blue Ivy.

A Mistake.

Breaking up speculations started to fly around when Beyonce released her sixth album. But we all know this pair is a super secretive pair.

We knew there was trouble in paradise when the footage was released of Beyonce’s younger sister, Solange, hitting JayZ in a hotel elevator. As usual, the couple never spoke about it. Instead, a statement was released by the family that Solange and JayZ had apologized to each other and moved on.

In fact, Beyonce and JayZ embarked on their first tour together.

In 2016, Beyonce released the Lemonade album which confirmed that JayZ had been cheating on her. The following year, the power couple had their twins on the 13th of June, 2017, Rumi and Sir Carter and the photo was the most liked photo on Instagram that year.

Emergency C-section Birth

When she gave birth to her twins, Beyonce came out to announce that there were complications around their birth.

“I was 218 pounds the day I gave birth to Rumi and Sir. I was swollen from toxemia and had been on bed rest for over a month. My health and my babies’ health were in danger, so I had an emergency C-section. We spent many weeks in the NICU… I was in survival mode and did not grasp it all until months later.” she said. 

JayZ finally apologized to Beyonce in his 4:44 album. He also publicly admitted that he had cheated on her. 

In 2018, they renewed their vows in an intimate ceremony. Shortly after, they embarked on another joint tour. During the tour, they released their first joint album “The Carters” which went on to win a Grammy and the Brit awards.

Right now, they are in a happy place. Beyonce had expressed gratitude for having the opportunity to travel with her family and growing together in love and health.
