How To Get Out Of The Side Chick Circle

Nobody wakes up one morning and prays that they become a side chick to a man. But sometimes, temptations does  arise and against all things you might find yourself questioning your morals and values.

Being a side chick can be very draining both mentally and emotionally.

If you’ve learnt your lessons about being a side chick and you want to break out of it now, then these are steps you should follow.

  1. Communicate openly with the person involved: Talk to your partner about your feelings and what you want from the relationship. Tell them you’re not comfortable being a side  chick anymore and if they can’t make a decision about you, walk away.
  2. Set boundaries: Make a decision and stick with it. Do not allow them try to invade your space again if you have decided to walk away from the situation.
  3. Consider ending the relationship: If your partner is not willing to make changes or commit only to you, it may be time to move on.
  4. Focus on self-improvement: Spend time working on yourself and your own goals, rather than focusing on the relationship.
  5. Surround yourself with supportive people: Seek out friends and family members who support you and your goals.
  6. Seek therapy: Talking to a professional can help you process your feelings and develop a plan for moving forward.
  7. Take a break from dating: Use this time to focus on yourself and figure out what you want in a relationship.
  8. Learn to love yourself: Focus on building self-confidence and learning to love and accept yourself.
  9. Seek out new experiences: Try new things, travel, and meet new people to broaden your horizons and build a fulfilling life outside of the relationship.
  10. Trust your instincts: You know against all things that what you’re doing is wrong.  But even worse, you know it will never end well for you, so, this is the time to trust your instinct and take the right steps to protect yourself by cutting off the situation.
