D’banj and Lineo Kigali’s Intimate Love Life

Nigerians were completely taken by surprise when we found out that D’banj was married and had in fact been for a while.

Oladapo Daniel Oyabanjo also known as D’banj is a multiple award winning Nigerian Artist and performer.

He got married to Lineo Didi Kilgore back in 2016 in an extremely private ceremony.

On a Beat Fm interview he revealed that his decision to keep his marriage secret stemmed from the fact that he a public figure and did not want all the attention and eventual complicated-mess that came out out having a public relationship.

In his words

“I decided to keep my marriage to Didi a secret because based on experience, relationships like this get mixed with media hypes and speculations and then it becomes complicated,”

“You know the pressure to get married was this high and mum told me she wanted to see the girl I was dating and would want to marry. I told her that there was this babe and we didn’t want to marry yet but she insisted that she was the one for me that we should have a small ceremony and the rest is history. I’m glad I listened to her.”

Kudos! Of course to all his friends and family who kept it completely private from the rest of the world till he was finally ready to share the news with the world.

The wedding between the music star and his love took place at his family home in Maryland.

It was a court and very intimate traditional wedding that is fact only nuclear family members were in fact in attendance.

Who is Lineo Didi Kilgore?

Lineo Didi Kilgore, popularly known as just Didi is a 25 year graduate from the University of Abuja. She grew up in Jos state in Nigeria.

She is also the step sister of popular MTV tv host and presenter Sammie Walsh.

While their marriage might have been a private affair, these are a few things that we, the audience got to share in.

D’banj and Lineo Give birth to first son

In 2017, a year after the two tied the knot, Dbanj and Lineo welcomed the Mira first child and first son, Daniel. He was named after D’banj and his father. It was also after the birth of his son that D’banj decided to reveal his marital status to us.

D’banj and Lineo lose one year old son

In an extremely painful and tragic accident, D’banj and his wife Lineo lost their 1 year old baby Daniel through drowning. Their are not enough information to give us insight on how he drowned or what led to it but regardless, it is a very sad incident.

It was a really excruciatingly painful period for the lovers but they cling tightly to each toner during the dark times.

D’banj also released an emotional heartfelt song dedicated to his wife promising to never leave her and to always be with her every single step of the way.

The “Fall in love” singer  gave his wife “life time assurances”, while describing her as a gift from God in the song.

“You are my wife, you are a favour from God. We will be together for life.”

He shared this song in a video on his official Instagram handle with words of encouragement to his wife.

He wrote:

“Together We Will Pass Every Test That We Pass Through.

Dbanj further assured his wife of an eternal life together while acknowledging that he would die for her if the situation warrants it.

Dbanj Welcomes Second Son Zane 2019

While Zane is D’banj’s only son, he is technically Also his second son.

A year after the pair lost their first child, they gave birth to a healthy beautiful boy to the amazements of most Nigerians.

This was a sweet blessing to this couple who had already gone through immense grief for their first born son.

D’banj  and his wife Lineo welcomes Second child and First daughter.

In 2020 A year after the birth of son Zane, D’banj and his gorgeous wife welcomed another little bundle of joy.

Taking to social media, he showered praise on his wife and the newborn baby girl. He wrote:

“As I Hold My Daughter, My Own babylet In my Arms On This Day all the proof in God I need is in Her Eyes, you are a gift from the heavens and my God indeed honored His words in Psalms 65:11. And to my Beautiful Wife lineo, I watched how you changed by the day and I marvelled at your strength.

I couldn’t imagine the stress you had to go through carrying another human in a body. But You taught me what real strength is as you endured every kick and change just to give us our baby girl, while still Taking care of all of us. You are wonderful love and a Rare Gem.

I’m grateful I get to wake up to you. You have proven yet again that you are unmistakably one of the best gifts God has ever blessed me with. I love you. Happy New year .2021 is full of GRACE. Zane your Little sister is here!

D’banj Celebrates his wife’s birthday

This April, 2022 was his wife’s birthday and he took to social media to celebrate it in the sweetest way possible.

In an instagram post, D’banj expressed how grateful he is to have met her and that she agreed to be his wife and mother of his children.

”To my World , My Heart,my Best friend, Best partner Ever , The richest Woman I know . Soo Caring and Selfless and Most Patient person I know . Your virtues are Endowed from God and I’m Grateful each day that I met you and you agreed to be my Wife and mother of my children. You are the Best , Happy Birthday darling . Luv u 7,000”

To this beautiful message, his wife replied

“Awww, Bebe thank you. Love you 7000 and more.”

His wife also showed her support for him by being present  throughout the “Nigeria’s got idol” live eviction show.

The pair have really been through a lot but in-spite of their challenges, they still chose to love themselves and create a beautiful life for themselves.

That, in its entirety, is a hauntingly beautiful thing to do.
