Past Love In A Poem

Today, we’ll focus on creativity, not every time that I’ll be advising you guys on what to do, sometimes, you should be able to come here not to be judged or corrected but just to read creative works on relationships and love. I wrote this poem in my 200level in University for someone who is now a very close friend; the feelings were unexpected. I hope you enjoy the read.
FOR THE ONE I DIDN’T WANT TO LOVE
Named after a Queen
Upon her words, do I lean
To catch her gaze,
I fool around
Not really because I like attention
But I want her to notice me.
An intellectual,
Smarter than me, I presume
But at the depths of her icy heart are tales.
I would like her to tell me.
I understand her, and I like to believe she gets me.
Her horrors, I want to make mine,
My desires, I would share
Not really my type or someone I’d be attracted to
But around her, I’m whole.
The feelings crept up on me surprisingly.
I see in her eyes; unafraid curiosity.
She doesn’t believe in happy endings.
I would like to make her see the good in me.
She looks comfortable in solitude.
But I wrap loneliness around me like a cloak.
She needs to smile more.
I would be her jester, her clown, even a mime.
She wants attention from one.
I would like to be the one.
Even though I know with all sincerity and honesty,
She wouldn’t look at me twice.
So that’s that, somewhat cheesy, rather cringe-worthy but 100percent my feelings for her then, so for those who want to express their feelings to someone creatively, there is no guideline or handbook, be true, that’s Wonder’s advice at least, love and light….
