As important as money is in a relationship, it is also important to know that this jewel can also ruin your relationship and end it for good. It can happen in so many ways. People will say that money cannot buy your happiness but money can surely ruin it.

You and your partner have to be careful of how you decide to use money in your relationship and make sure it doesn’t control you. There are several bad money spending habits that can spoil a healthy relationship.

Debts and Hiding Money;

When you hide money from your partner, if they find out, it becomes a problem. Hiding money from your partner can be considered cheating because they are not hiding theirs from you and you both are sharing it so why hide yours? When you have a bank account, stock investment or even a business that is unknown to your partner, it shows a lack of trust.

At some point, your partner may find out later because they live with you and when they find out, it will only make them sad that the person they trust doesn’t trust them back.

Owing and having debts is another big reason for strong relationships to crash. The best thing is to tell them about it because they will still find out eventually and if they find out themselves, the consequences will be high.

Having A Joint Account

A joint account cannot solve your marriage or relationship problems so it is not necessary. This account has caused a lot of divorce and breakups than you think. Most times, you have to discuss how you are going to spend the money in the account.

If you both want a joint account, have a joint account to pay bills but not to spend.

Little Salary

A relationship cannot function well without money. You will go out with your partners, you both may have personal needs you want the other person to get and even children might come in. Everyone has agreed to the fact that a good relationship is sweet but with money, it is sweeter.

If you earn little, think of how to grow. Apart from relationships but in your personal life, if you earn little, there will be financial constraints.

Sharing Financial Goals

This is very important, especially when both of you have decided to spend the rest of your life together. It is important to talk about monetary visions, hopes and dreams so that you both can be on the same page.

Set financial goals so that you can understand each other and iron out all the differences to avoid fights and arguments in the future. When there is a lack of regular discussion on finances, they might be a problem.

Money is very important in a relationship because it moves it, it fuels the lifestyle of the players in it. Little money issues can result in big problems that can destroy a strong ‘2’ years relationship if you don’t discuss finances.
