Sola Sobowale’s Private Family Life And Career

Sola Sobowale is one of the veteran actresses in the Nigerian movie industry and has come a long way in a career that has spanned for  over 20 years.

She is an undeniably amazing actress and a movie where she is cast as a character is a must watch for everyone.

Sola Sobowale, had always had an earnest desire to be an actress but her dream was not one that her parents agreed with.

Through the help of her brother-in-law, Tunji Oyelana, she was eventually able to convince her parents to allow her to pursue a career in acting. After her role in the movie Sura The Tailor, she became a household name.

She has been cast in a number of popular movies from Asewo to Mecca, Diamond Ring, The Outsider, Outcast, The Wedding Party, the Set Up and King Of Boys among others.

However while her career has gained her a lot of prominence, her relationship and love life had been under locks to Nigerians. She very rarely talks about her love life and marriage to Oludotun Sobowale.

Sola is married to Oludotun Sobowale, who is the former corporate executive director of EKO Hospital. The couple has 5 children, two who are a set of twins. The twins were involved in the scriptwriting of the movie, Nectar.

Olutodun Sobowale and her 5 kids seem to be based in the US and after training her kids she decided it was time to focus more squarely on her career as a Nollywood actress.

She had to put her career on hold for a while to be a full time mother to her kids, Taiwo and Kehinde Sobowale (who are twins), Olamide Sobowale, and two others who their identities remain unknown.

In her own words, she says

“I left Nollywood to take care of my children; children are not asked to be born so when you have them, you must take care of them. I couldn’t do two things at a time, meaning I couldn’t face my career and carry out my responsibility as a mother.

So, I had to sacrifice one for the other. I have got five children so I had to take care of them. I left for England because I wanted the best for my children, education-wise.

Today, I have got an accountant, advertising practitioner, business management expert and an engineer.”

On the rare occasions she speaks about her family, she is the picture of a very proud and happy mother.

Sola Sobowale is more than just a Nollywood actress at the moment after she announced some big news via an Instagram Post.

She revealed that she would be traveling to India to work on an upcoming project with director Hamisha Daryani Ahuja.

She wrote, “I am so excited to announce that I will be working with record breaking Director/Exec Producer @HamishaDaryaniAhuja on her upcoming project! And… get this….we will be going to India to film! I will be playing a very dynamic role in this project and cannot wait for you to watch it. Are you as excited as I am ???”

We sure are excited and cannot wait to see her on the Bollywood screen soon.
