Physically-challenged Couple Find Completion In Each Other

Living with a physical challenge should not be a barrier to love. It can only be a problem if you’re not educated or empowered.

This is a heartwarming love story between Bukola and Michael Owoyele, two people living with physical disabilities which started inside a BRT bus in Lagos.

Bukola is a graduate of the University of Lagos and while Micheal is currently undergoing studies in Child Education and Social Studies and also plays National and international wheelchair basketball. Micheal and Bukola found each other in Lagos and decided to live their lives together, against all odds.

The couple in an interview conducted by Punch stated that People often ask them how two persons living with disabilities are going to cope.

Bukola told the press that when Micheal asked her out, her first question to him was “How are we going to cope since you are challenged and I’m challenged too”. After a period of wait, She finally agreed to Marry Micheal and now they are blessed with a son. She also added that they decided to wait for two years before having a child and people kept asking funny questions like Is he unable to perform in bed because of his challenge? Or is there a challenge with her womb too?

Micheal added that their marriage is thriving and it’s all about determination and the mindset.
