Nigerian Women Blast Solomon Buchi After His Love Note To Fiancée, Arike

Solomon Buchi has received a lot of from Nigerians after his very public love note to his fiancée Arike.

Solomon Buchi and Arike got engaged back in 6th of July, 2022 and their beautiful announcement was met with a lot of congratulatory messages.

He decided to take to his Facebook recently  to express his feelings for his future wife and at first what had initially meant to be a love letter turned into a viral post that attracted the anger of a lot of Nigerian women.

In the viral post, he wrote,

“You’re not the most beautiful woman,” l “Neither are you the most intelligent woman, but like I’ve chosen to never find perfection in anyone else. I put my gaze on you, and with that commitment, we would mold ourselves for ourselves. Our perfection is in our commitment.”

“Stating that you’re not the most beautiful/intelligent might sound like it’s not a compliment, yeah? But it’s a realistic base for real love,” he continued. “Acknowledging that my woman isn’t the best, but I’m not looking for the best. I was looking for you and I found you. There’s no best, there is just someone you choose and see the best in them.”

This to me is the real love. Not the one that consoles itself in the faux reality that their partner is the most good looking, most intelligent, most successful person in the world. That’s disingenuous and doesn’t give room for love to thrive.”

As expected, many Nigerian woman attacked him for starting the note the way he did. He stated that even though his fiancée was not the most beautiful woman or the smartest person in the world, he still chose her above every one else.

People thought it was a wrong thing to say to a person you plan on spending the rest of your life with. Naturally, the person you love might not always be the prettiest or the best but you just want to tell them that they are anyone because that’s what being in love is all about.

Even though Solomon Buchi’s plan was to compliment his fiancée, many women in the comment section found his message absolutely strange.

As a matter of fact, a Facebook influencer, Ijeoma Chinonyerem, penned down a long essay on the importance of women being careful about their choice of partner using Solomon Buchi as a case study.

In the lengthy Facebook post, she said

“He wanted to cut her down to size so bad that even though he didn’t know what the course was about, he had to Google tough questions just so he can gleefully tell her he failed them. He still posted it even though he acknowledged that she would cringe having that video out there. Do you see a pattern?” Ijeoma wrote.

She concluded by saying: “The things you allow early on set the tone of your relationship. If in your desperation to be with someone, you let them walk all over you or bend over backwards to prove you’re wife material, you have opened yourself to a world of hurt. Because you will continue to bend and bend and bend till your spine is broken. All because you allowed it.”

Solomon Buchi also recently responded to all the online attacks aimed at him stating that Nigerians took apart his words and wanted it to so desperately suit their own narratives.

His old tweets were also dug up where he once revealed that the person you want to get married to should be the most beautiful person to you.

He also took to Twitter to respond to that stating that his views and opinions have grown and changed with time and that he cannot be shamed for that.

This is why it’s important that public figures are cautious  of the content they put out on social media because the internet never forgets.
