Desi Valentines’ “Fate don’t know you”, an exciting and soulful ballad, co-written by Nana Afriyie and Rune Westberg has garnered about 729k views on YouTube. It won the hearts of many people after it was used on “Suits” season 6 pre-finale.
“What if someone told you your life would have all the riches, but you won’t have the love of your life in it?” was the question Desi choose to answer in this heart-capturing song.
“I put my palms before my eyes. And, she told me my truth. Laid the road for me, a rich man’s destiny but she saw it without you”, comprises the first paragraph of Desi’s song where he explains how he met with a fortune teller who told him “his truth”, which was the fact he would be rich. This fortune-teller, however, does not see the woman he loves in his future.
The next paragraph, “She’s a liar, she has no clue. You’re the one thing I will not lose”, finds Desi defiant, refusing to believe the fortuneteller as he is convinced he could lose everything he owns but not the woman he loves.

The chorus of the song speaks volume as Desi pours out his heart for his love, telling her the things he would rather do than lose her, emphasizing that fate does not know her as he does.
“I’ll run the tide, pull down the moon, run rivers dry, battle fate for you”, are obviously impossible things that can’t be done by a mere mortal but this exaggeration is only more proof of the extent he is willing to go for his love.
The song goes on. This time, he is talking to the woman he loves, assuring her she would not have a reason to doubt the fact that he loves her, as she is his destiny and his fire leaving no other hope (option) for him.
The line that brings the whole song together, “fate don’t know you like I do”, symbolizes a future Desi believes he can foretell, even more than the future, or what fate has in store for them.
It is a song you will definitely want to listen to if you’d like to let your other half just how much you would do to keep their love.
