Marriage can be likened to a rollercoaster. Sometimes you have great adventures and incredible memories with the person you love, Other times things may get strained. Perhaps you had a bad fight, you feel yourselves drifting apart, or you may have simply reached a point where you realize you need to improve the relationship. Relationships require effort, commitment, and loyalty to keep the love waxing strong and marriage is no exception.
Here are some strategies to help you maintain a good relationship with your spouse:
1) BE A GOOD LISTENER

In the situation where your significant other gets back home after a stressful day at work and you notice he is pushed, sit him down and request that he share his day with you.  Be a decent audience and assist him with helping.

2) SPEND QUALITY TIME WITH YOUR SPOUSE

This is an important aspect of marriage most couples often disregard. You need to guarantee that you invest quality energy with your better half. Regardless of how bustling you are and what occurs, you both should take a break for yourselves. Converse with one another, go out on dates, or spend quality time doing something you both like doing.

3) MAINTAIN HONESTY

Honesty and transparency are tools for love and weapons against shame. Under any situation at all, you need to guarantee that there is trustworthiness. Secrecy is a great enemy of intimacy in marriage.

4) WORK ON COMPROMISING

Compromising can be difficult, especially when emotions are running high after an argument. It’s normal to disagree or even argue from time to time, but you need to be willing to let go of your side in the name of compromising and collaborating.

5) BE FLEXIBLE

To be flexible in marriage means being open to new ideas, different ways of doing things, novel adventures, and even different life experiences.  Your differences are probably part of what attracted you to each other in the first place.  Be willing to agree to disagree and understand things from your spouse’s point of view.

6) GIVE EACH OTHER SPACE

Your relationship will be stronger and more interesting if you give your spouse time and space without you. Remember that one person can’t possibly meet all your needs. Both you and your spouse must keep and nurture outside friendships and interests.

7) REKINDLE THE OLD LOVE

Finally, the main activity is to keep your connection alive and dynamic. As time goes on, a few couples simply become acclimated to the everyday schedule and do nothing extraordinary. The spark in a marriage doesn’t last long unless you and your partner put effort into keeping the spark alive. Among the hoards of responsibilities and burdens, marriage can become very monotonous, resulting in a lack of romance and passion. Have conversations with your spouse and make creative plans to ensure the initial spark that lead to the union returns.
