Most times, when red flags are ignored in a relationship, such a relationship doesn’t last long. You shouldn’t be with someone showing signs that makes you unhappy. Therefore, when you notice some signs, you should walk away as soon as possible.

here is a list of red flags you shouldn’t ignore

1. Your friends or family hate them

If the people who know you the best do not like your partner, it’s an obvious red flag, Sometimes it’s easy to get blinded by love and only see what you want to see, but if your family or friends clearly don’t like your partner then you need to understand why, because as much as it’s your relationship and it’s your choice to make, we cannot remove the fact that family and friends are crucial parts of our lives and when they don’t like your partner it’s a really big deal that needs to be given deep considerations. It’s a serious red flag that shouldn’t be ignored.

2. They won’t compromise

You’re never going to agree on everything with your partner, which is very much understandable seeing that both partners grew up from different backgrounds and have some ideologies they came into the relationship with. But learning to find a middle ground and ways to compromise on key issues is hugely important for a relationship to thrive. Compromise really is all about looking for the halfway point where both parties can be happy. They’re not thrilled, but they’re not disappointed either. If you notice that you and your partner are having an almost impossible time compromising, perhaps one of you refuses to budge on a particular issue, then there may be something very “seriously wrong with your relationship,” and it is a serious red flag that must not be ignored.

3. There’s a power imbalance

Dating is about working together to support one another in equal measure. Being in a happy relationship should feel like being in the best kind of team. If it doesn’t, and it seems like one of you is constantly exerting control over the other, who is more submissive, consider it a bright red flag. Signs of a power imbalance can take the form of jealousy or controlling behavior, always wanting to be in charge of basically everything and consequently makes the partner feel like a “zombie”

4. Proper attention and value

Giving attention to your partner and placing value on them cannot be over emphasized. For a relationship to move smoothly, it requires both partners giving each other attention and value each other. If there is a deficiency in any of the above, then serious consideration must be made about the relationship. Once partners stop to value each other, they begin to see each other’s faults over little issues and can lead to constant fights and arguments. A partner who doesn’t value the other is a red flag and must not be ignored, to prevent heart breaks that could have been avoided.
