Society ideals are always changing especially when it has to do with our body size or body type.

1. Eniola Badmus
This hilarious Nollywood actress has gotten so many roles based specifically on her body size. It can be very unflattering and in the long run take a toll on a person’s self confidence when you’re chosen for roles based off your physical appearance.
She revealed that she had to deal with a lot of onslaught from Nigerians regarding her weight and it affected her mental health. She was able to regain confidence in herself and her body when she decided to unapologetically accept herself.
In an interview she states
“To lose confidence in one’s body is to lose confidence in oneself.” “Accept yourself now – no matter how much you weigh, what you see in the mirror, or how your clothes fit.
Currently she has been able to lose some dramatic weight losing over 33kg.
While she is still considered a plus size individual, she has revealed to her fans and followers she feels absolutely confident and loves her body even more every day.
2. Warri pikin
Nigerian OAP and comedienne, Anita Osuoha, professionally known as Real Warri Pikin is definitely one of the heavily endowed Nigerian females in the industry.
She is always ready to show off her curves, rocking fitted outfits to accentuate them. If there was a poster girl for loving and embracing your plus size build, it would definitely be Warri pikin.
She recently lost over 10 kg after some health issues started to arise because of the pressure of her weight on her knees.
She did not feel pressured by the society to lose weight and only decided to do so when it was important for her health.

3. Anita Joseph
Anita Joseph also known as Mother hen exudes a natural effortless sex appeal. She is always sharing the most stunning pictures showing off her curves in modest outfits and skimpy dresses.
She rocks anything and everything. There are no outfits that are off limits to her beautiful plus size body. She is a champion for body positivity, and is consistently sharing captions on instagram, praising her body.
She once declared on instagram that when she looks at her body in the mirror, she appreciates God all over again.
4. Rita Edochie
The Nollywood Alumni has on several occasion bragged about her full waist and robust womanly body.
She refers to her body as a “follow come” gift from God. She is always willing to flaunt her massive beautiful backside on the gram, and as usual, she gets a lot of comments appreciating her body.
5. Teni
Temi single-handedly redefined the look of an Afro-popstar.
There are stereotypical looks that are unconsciously bestowed to stars, especially if you’re a female. You’re supposed to look a certain way, act a certain way and even dress a certain way.
Any deviation from the normal, opens the star up to online ridicule.

Toolz confessed that as a plus sized female, it wasn’t easy at first to accept her body type. She remembers feeling out of place around her peers and wanting so badly to fit in.
This was what propelled her to launch a lingerie line for plus size females.
The line called Sablier is pronounced as Sab-Lee-Ay.
When launching the line, she had a couple of body positive things to share.
In her own words
“The journey to accepting my body hasn’t been easy. As a curvy girl, you tend to feel out of place – my body type wasn’t the hot thing back then. I just didn’t fit in. I want ladies, irrespective of their size or body types, to be confident and love themselves, and essentially embrace their beautiful, because beauty is from within and is not dependent on what society dictates.”
7. Chigul
The Nollywood actress once spilled on the difficulty for her to get the kind of roles she wanted as a plus size woman.
It will be difficult get a lead casting in a romantic movie, if you’re plus size. Her roles were majorly comic roles where she had to make fun of herself or allow others make fun of her.
This was of course due to her physical looks.
She says
“ The fact is aesthetics sell and I know. I am trying to get there. I don’t want to be skinny, I just want to be fit and healthy.
On struggling with acceptance: It is a constant struggle. I know some things I lost because of my size. I have been refused opportunities because I am not younger and slimmer but you lose some and win some. I always assumed that if I didn’t get something it was never mine but then again I am in this market and I have to give the world what the world wants.
On changing who she is: I don’t know about anyone else but I don’t want to be fat. I am fat now but I want to get to a place where I am healthy and fit and fabulous. It is better for my overall health. However, I love myself regardless.
Imagine getting my makeup and hair done and suffice to say I was pleased with myself till a gentleman put up a comment that read “It is finally nice to see Fiona from Shrek in person” I thought “Wawu! You look at me and think of Fiona?” It stung because it was such a cruel comment”.
Despite all the hateful comments from people, she still deliberately shows up for herself and carries herself with a deserving confidence.
8. Nkechi Blessing
Even more than her acting prowess, her beautiful plus size physique has gained her a lot of prominence in the Nigerian industry.
While so many people have speculated that she went under the knife to achieve her ample curves, she has consistently refuted those claims.

9. Omotola Jalade
We all know how much a pregnancy can change a female. For Omotola, after birthing 4 beautiful kids, it’s natural to gain some healthy weight. However, a lot of her fans and Nigerians in general attacked her for her body size and even reminded her that she was not the first female to get pregnant.
This can be absolutely devastating for any female to hear.
Omotola, as is characteristic of her, rose above the hateful comments and instead rocked her plus size body even better than she was originally doing.
10. Dorathy Bachor
This BBN almni captured a lot of hearts from the first moment she walked into the Bug brother’s house. She rocked her ample bosom confidently and even went viral as a result of her body curves.
While in the house, she wore lots of bikinis during the Friday pool party and so many other absolutely sexy outfits that highlighted her curvy frame.
After leaving the BBN house, a lot of people were quick to drag her for her weight and in answer to the drags and trolls she received, she launched a swimsuit line named MFC focused on plus size females.
Currently, her swim suit has also become inclusive to all.
Having dealt with body shaming in the past, she is always enthusiastic to go on projects that speak openly about body positivity.
