5 things that turn love to hatred in a relationship

These things are as important as things to note to avoid global warming. When love is gone and replaced with hatred, it breeds two things; Toxicity and Violence.

By the very definition of the word itself, one gets the feeling of an atmosphere of negative vibes. A relationship filled with unhappiness, toxic and inhumane behaviour, one should know its time to get out hence avoiding a situation like this should be totally avoided.

This is because eventually, that muted displeasure will keep piling in your mind till it becomes too difficult to hold in. The months and months of unexpressed bitterness usually leads to emotional outbursts that may ruin things beyond reconciliation.

In order to successfully steer your relationship towards stability and happiness, here are five things to avoid, for they are some of the biggest causes of resentment in relationships.

1. Holding things in

Expressing one’s feeling is utmost important in a relationship. It is utterly dangerous to be someone who never speaks his or her mind in a relationship. Holding things like your feelings, fears, unhappiness and the likes will only make things worse. Speak up! Doesn’t matter what happens next. What is most important is how you speak it. Be calm, take charge, be in control but try as much as possible to get your message across. He makes you feel a certain way? Say it. She makes you feel uncomfortable? Don’t hold it in, speak up!

Not sharing your thoughts and opinions, feelings and actions will only build resentment. These resentments will only build hatred. Hatred will only breed disaster. Speak up! Share your thoughts.

2. Ignorance

When your partner expresses their opinions and you ignore them, you make them feel worthless and undervalued. Ignoring one’s partner especially their feelings leads to resentment all the time.. Slowly but surely you strip them of their confidence. Some partners might not be able to speak their minds and that’s on them but the fault will be yours if they do speak up but you never take their feelings into account.

Ignoring one’s partner only makes relationships collapse… it never builds it.

3. Lack of recognition and Acknowledgement

Everyone wants to feel valued and appreciated. Sweet nothings shouldn’t just be when couples are dating. She wants to hear about how much you value her. Your partner also wants to feel like he counts, that his efforts are appreciated and that his presence counts and makes a difference in your life vice Versa.

Reassurance and assurance in a relationship saves a lot of things from crumbling down.

4. Disappointments

Constantly breaking promises and disappointing your partners is one way to end a relationship. This makes people lose faith in their partners as well as relationships. Never forget the most important things that matter to your partners. Hold up your end of a promise. If you can’t keep a promise, don’t make it. Avoid disappointing your partner.

This act can lead to distrust and once trust is tampered with, things never remains the same.

5. One Sided Efforts

In a relationship, it takes two. Never let your partner feel they are the only ones putting in all the efforts to make things work. If all one person does is to push for a better relationship, better communication, better situations while the other partner only thinks about him or herself and doesn’t bother to try, resentment will creep its way up. Being inconsistent, lackadaisical and complacent is not good for your relationship.
