Nigerians abroad have lamented on how hard it is to find love and get into a relationship. Some have even complained about how hard it is to make friends. Some of this is due to the notorious acts by other black or Nigerians. Here are some of them,

Yahoo

The popular cyber crime called Yahoo is mostly known as a thing the majority of Nigerian men do. Most white women have fallen victim and when this thing happens, they tell their friends about it and it begins to spread and soon everybody feels that all Nigerian men do Yahoo. This is because the majority of them have been scammed by a Yahoo boy or they know someone who was.

If a Nigerian man tells a white lady he loves her, she will find it hard to believe because it always starts from there They become scared and overprotective because they don’t know the man’s next move. This is really bad for good men who sincerely work for their money. They are caught under the bus of this stereotype and they suffer from it.

Green Card

Africans are known to marry people from other nationalities for green cards. It is not new and because of how rampant it is, people just say all Africans marry for green cards. You’ll see a man marry a woman from another nationality, meanwhile, he had a wife in his own country. Once he gets the green card, he will abandon the woman and sometimes go with her money. That why a high number of young Nigerian boys go for white older women. Africans are generally known for fraud and when people are known for fraud, it would be very hard to trust them.

Nigerians and people from other nationalities get married and it happens but this is one of the reasons why it’s not as many as it should be.

JuJu/Kayanmata

Some non-Africans see Africans as very fetish people. Some don’t even know that Christianity and Islam have reached some countries in Africa. They believe that Africans are wicked and they can do anything for themselves due to greed and lack of contentment.

They see news of how people use other people for rituals to make money and of course, they become scared. Their men see how African ladies sell things like Kayanmata on social media and you expect them not to get scared? Yes, they’ll be and it will be hard to convince them that you are not one of them.

Lifestyle

Trust me when I say that you don’t really need to say or act in a way for a white person to look down on you. This is mostly because of how we live in our country, in Africa. They see the news too. African news is shown on CNN and they see it. They believe that the majority of Africans are living in poverty. They don’t want to get to know you before they write you off. One time, there was a write-up where a white lady said that she thought Africans lived on trees.

They see the state of our government, roads, and schools, and they believe that the majority of Africans are illiterate. They see headline news about a terrible thing happening and they believe everyone is a criminal, including a baby.

Even with everything listed here, another thing that hinders Africans from finding love abroad is Racism.

Racism

Racism had been there for a very long time and it is still happening to date. A lot of people have suffered from it. Some people are generally not interested in black people because they don’t like black skin, they can’t imagine their child having a mixture of black. This set of people can never find black people attractive so there’s no need to try.
